Do not eat, do not drink, do not eat chewing gum, do not carry a durian, do not...

I arrived in Singapore two months ago. My first impression was that I was not lost at all, as I could have imagined. Everyone speaks English. Everything is written in English. It is easy! There is such a huge melting pot here, you do not really understand where exactly you are...China? a huge Chinatown? India? an European city somewhere? It is very hard to tell! You find all the brands you want. I was so happy to rediscover many American brands and restaurants I used to know and love in the US: Goldfishes, Hershey, California Pizza Kitchen, Cold stone creamery... But besides that, you can feel that you are not "home" by the way people look at you and interact, and because of all the rules that you have to follow in this country.
